Chandigarh, August 6, 2025:-H.S. Lucky, President of the Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee, today met the newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP), Chandigarh, Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, and extended his best wishes for a successful and people-centric tenure.
During the meeting, H S Lucky appreciated the DGP's recent initiative to streamline the city's traffic challaning system, making it more transparent and citizen-friendly. He welcomed the reforms aimed at encouraging responsible driving while ensuring that enforcement remains fair and efficient. Lucky also raised several important issues related to law and order in the city. He emphasized the need for enhanced police visibility, improved community policing, and quicker responsiveness to public grievances. Matters such as women's safety, the menace of drug abuse, and the need for proactive policing in sensitive areas were also discussed in detail.
Speaking after the meeting, Lucky said that the new DGP has shown a proactive and progressive approach to public concerns, particularly in traffic management and people-friendly policing, both of which impact the daily lives of citizens. He has a very positive outlook and we look forward to continued efforts to strengthen law and order while maintaining a humane and responsive police force.
The Chandigarh Congress reaffirmed its commitment to work constructively with law enforcement agencies for the betterment of the city and the safety of its residents.
