Chandigarh Congress Holds Massive Public Meeting at Ram Leela Ground, Vikas Nagar Mauli Jagran

Chandigarh, August 23, 2025:-The Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee  today organized a massive public meeting at the Ram Leela Ground in Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, as part of the Indian National Congress's ongoing nationwide movement to expose electoral irregularities and safeguard the sanctity of India's democratic process.

The meeting, which drew a huge gathering of Congress leaders , workers and local residents from across the city, was organized against the backdrop of shocking revelations made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his recent exposé. The revelations alleged that the Election Commission of India (ECI), under pressure from the Modi government, manipulated voter data and processes during the 2024 parliamentary elections to tilt the results in favor of the BJP. The event served as a platform for Congress leaders and the public alike to raise their voices against what they described as the "biggest betrayal of democracy in independent India.'

In her impassioned address, came down heavily on the Election Commission and the BJP government at the Centre. She said that the Election Commission has failed in its constitutional duty to conduct free and fair elections. By allowing manipulation in voter data, it has compromised the very foundation of democracy. This is not just a lapse; it is a crime against the people of India. We demand immediate accountability, transparency, and answers from those responsible.

Speaking about the larger threat posed to India's democracy,  asserted that the sanctity of our electoral process has been destroyed. When citizens cannot trust that their vote counts, democracy itself is in danger. This is not merely about one election—it is about the future of our Republic. The Congress Party will not rest until the truth is revealed and electoral reforms are implemented to safeguard the rights of every voter.

 emphasized the role of Congress in defending democracy at a critical juncture. He declared that the people of Chandigarh and the country stand with the Congress in this battle for truth. We will continue to expose every attempt to undermine democracy. The people's faith in the electoral process must be restored, and for that, accountability must be fixed. Our agitation is not political opportunism—it is a fight for the soul of India's democracy.

He expressed solidarity with the Congress cadres and the people of Chandigarh, noting that the ongoing movement is not just about the Congress but about protecting the democratic rights of all Indians. He stressed the urgent need for comprehensive electoral reforms, stronger safeguards against data manipulation, and strict action against those who seek to tamper with people's mandate.

The public meeting was  organized by Mukesh Rai, Chairman of the Colony Cell, and Surjit Singh Dhillon, President of the District Congress Committee Manimajra.

The meeting witnessed an electrifying response from the public. The ground reverberated with slogans such as "Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod" and "Loktantra Bachao, BJP Hatao." those Present expressed anger, disappointment, and determination, making it clear that they will no longer tolerate electoral theft and the weakening of democratic norms. Many participants shared personal experiences of being denied their right to vote or finding their names missing from electoral rolls, further strengthening the Congress Party's charge against the Election Commission.

Concluding the event, the Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee reiterated its unwavering resolve to continue the struggle until electoral transparency is ensured and those responsible for manipulating the system are held accountable. The Chandigarh Congress pledged to take this movement to every colony, village, and household in Chandigarh, reminding people that democracy belongs to them and cannot be hijacked by any government or institution.

This fight is not just for Congress—it is for every citizen of India. Our Constitution, our democracy, and our future are at stake. We will not back down, the Chandigarh Congress declared in its closing statement.
