Chandigarh, August 10, 2025:--The Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee today held a massive program at Village Darua, drawing a large crowd from across all sections of society. The event turned into a strong show of public anger against the BJP-led Municipal Corporation's disastrous governance.
Addressing the gathering, Manish Tewari, MP Chandigarh, delivered a scathing attack on the ruling BJP in the MC, said that people are fed up. The BJP-led MC has become the very definition of inefficiency and neglect. Development has come to a standstill. He once again demand that the Central Government release the MC's rightful 30% share without delay. He will continue to speak for the people of Chandigarh, no matter who gets hurt by it. He also assured the residents of Village Darua that their genuine demands will be taken up and resolved.
H.S. Lucky, President of the Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee, accused the BJP of systematically destroying the civic body for political gains. He declared that for eight long years, Chandigarh has suffered under the BJP's misrule. Successive BJP Mayors have rolled out one faulty scheme after another, driving the MC towards financial collapse. The recent refusal by the Ministry of Home Affairs to provide funds is proof of the BJP's arrogance and insensitivity towards the people of Chandigarh. They have reduced the MC to a puppet that cannot serve its citizens.
The program was attended by senior Congress leaders including Harmail Kesri, Surinder Singh, Pawan Sharma, Kulwant Singh, Sandeep Kumar, Surjit Dhillon, Rajdeep Sidhu, Asif Chaudhary, Wasim Mir, Imran Mansoori, and Harinder Kumar, along with hundreds of party workers and supporters.
