Chandigarh, June 11, 2025:-- In a significant move to streamline preparations for the upcoming domestic cricket season, the UT Cricket Association (UTCA) organised a comprehensive players' orientation program for men's senior and women players on Wednesday . The initiative witnessed participation from over 200 cricketers marking the official start of UTCA's 2025-26 cricketing calendar.
UTCA President Sanjay Tandon led the session with an inspiring address, calling on players to see cricket not merely as a game, but as a platform to build character and contribute meaningfully to the sporting legacy of Chandigarh. Sanjay Tondon said that talent is important, but it's your discipline, commitment to hard work, and respect for the game that truly define a cricketer. As you step into this new season, remember that you're not just representing yourself, you're carrying the pride of a growing cricketing fraternity in Chandigarh. Let your conduct on and off the field inspire others. He reiterated UTCA's focus on transparency, merit-based selection and providing equal opportunities to all aspiring players.
The orientation included detailed briefings on the domestic tournament structure, selection policies, fitness expectations, code of conduct and other aspects of the game. Players were also introduced to their respective coaches, trainers and support staff for the season.
Present on the occasion inlcudes Secretary Devinder Sharma, Vice President Yuvraj Mahajan, Treasurer CA Alok Krishan, Joint Secretary Ravinder SIngh Billa, senior member Hari Singh Khurana and other senior funcionaries of the association.
