Pracheen Kala Kendra organized a special musical evening to pay musical homage to the timeless wisdom and verses of Sant Kabir on the auspicious occasion of his birth anniversary, here today. Kabir Vani was beautifully presented by young and talented artists from Delhi. The program was held at 6:30 PM in the M.L. Koser Indoor Auditorium of Pracheen Kala Kendra.
Rajesh Negi, Dr. Ravi Pal, Ganesh Kumar, Yogesh Pal, Dinesh Kumar, Vipin Kumar, and Gurbhej Singh from Delhi gave soulful performances during the evening.
The program began with a chhota khayal-based bhajan "Dekho Ri Ut Phool Na Lagi" in Raga Shri Kalyan, composed by Pandit Kumar Gandharva, and presented by Shri Rajesh Singh Negi. This was followed by another composition, "Naiharwa Hamka Na Bhave", performed collectively by all the artists.
In the next segment, the bhajan "Ram Niranjan Nyara Re" was presented, followed by Kabir's other soulful bhajans "Sadho Dekho Re Jag Baurana" and "Hai Man Hi Ishq Mastana, Hai Man Hi Hoshiyaari Kya."
Subsequently, melodious renditions of "Bin Satguru Nar Rahat Bhulana, Khojat Phirat Raah Nahi Jana" and "Ud Jayega Hans Akela, Jag Darshan Ka Mela" were performed, which were greatly appreciated by the audience.
The performances continued with "Avdhoota Gagan Gatha Gahrai Ho," "Hirana Samajh Boojh Van Charana," and "Bhajo Re Bhaiya Ram Govind Hari," all of which were infused with deep devotional spirit (Bhakti Ras).
The program concluded with a recitation of Kabir Ji's famous couplets. At the end of the event, the artists were felicitated with uttariyas and mementos by the Secretary of the Kendra, Sajal Koser.
On this occasion, Delhi based eminent musician Shri Devendra Verma and tabla exponent Shri Debashish Adhikari also graced the event.
