Chandigarh, June 04, 2025:--The Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee today extended a warm and enthusiastic welcome to the Hon'ble Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, upon his arrival at Chandigarh Airport. The reception was led by Chandigarh Congress President, H.S. Lucky, who received Gandhi and introduced him to key leaders of the Chandigarh Congress, including the recently elected Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Corporation.
This visit comes at a time of significant resurgence for the Congress party in the Union Territory. H.S. Lucky informed Rahul that the Chandigarh Congress has registered a historic comeback by reclaiming the city's parliamentary seat after a gap of ten years. He further highlighted the party's strong performance in the Municipal Corporation, where the Congress secured the posts of Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor—an achievement coming after nearly 12 years.The party also won various other elections Lucky informed Rahul.
During the interaction Lucky briefed Rahul Gandhi about the political landscape and pressing civic issues of Chandigarh. He extended an invitation to the Leader of Opposition for a detailed meeting with the Chandigarh Congress leadership in the coming days. The proposed meeting will focus on key city concerns and strategies for further strengthening the Congress organisation at the grassroots level in Chandigarh.
The Chandigarh Congress sees this renewed momentum as a turning point for the party in the city, and the visit of Rahul Gandhi has further energised party workers and leaders alike.
