15th Cardiomersion Conference Focuses on Comprehensive Management of Cardiovascular Diseases

Chandigarh, June 06, 2025:- 112 speakers from 25 countries including US, Canada, Japan and UK and top cardiologists, cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons and doctors across the country are participating in a three day 15th annual Cardiomersion Global Conference 2025 .

This year's conference is being held on a hybrid model with foreign participants gathering at Rome while Indian counterparts joining virtually from Chandigarh. Cardiomersion was founded in 2011 with an aim of spreading awareness about comprehensive management of cardiovascular diseases.

While addressing a press conference here today, Dr Deepak Puri, global chairman of Cardiomersion emphasized the role of enhancing technical skills to match rapidly advancing technologies in the comprehensive management of cardiovascular diseases.

He said that the Magnitude of heart attack patients and heart failure is enormous in India and is the highest in the world .Every year 20.5 million deaths occur across the globe because of cardiovascular diseases and more than 50% of Indian patients who have heart attack are not even 50 years old.


He said that nowadays even apparently healthy youngsters are also having sudden heart attack deaths which could have been easily prevented by simple lifestyle modifications and expert advice.


He also highlighted that apart from cardiac experts, the entire society and media should join hands to spread scientifically tested guidelines for prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases.


Dr Puri said that we promote integrated approach involving teamwork to deliver comprehensive cost-effective management of cardiovascular and thoracic diseases. This involves primordial & primary prevention of cardiovascular and other lifestyle diseases from an early age apart from initializing early diagnosis and holistic management of diseases before any complications arise.


An award winning short film "Rakhiye Dil Ka Khayal Dil Se" made by Dr Deepak Puri and his Cardiomersion team was also released on Friday. The film has been awarded the best director award in the Indies Film Festival & appreciation award in Swastik Film Festival. The film highlights why youngsters are having sudden heart attack deaths.
