UTCA Pays Tribute to Victims of Pahalgam Terror Attack: Players Observed Silence

Chandigarh, April 23, 2025:- As a mark of respect and heartfelt tribute, players participating in the ongoing Gully Cricket Tournament which is jointly organised by the UT Cricket Association (UTCA) in association with Chandigarh Police observed a one-minute silence before the commencement of matches across various venues in Chandigarh.

Standing in solidarity with the families who lost their loved ones in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, UTCA has decided that there will be no dholi  or DJ music played during the matches.

In a statement issued by Sanjay Tandon, President, UTCA, he said that cricket has always been a unifying force in our country, but at times like this, we pause in silence and solidarity. UTCA stands shoulder to shoulder with the families affected by the tragic events in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this time of grief.

Devinder Sharma, Secretary, UTCA also affirmed that there will be no celebratory elements during the matches, keeping the proceedings solemn and respectful. Meanwhile, 51 matches were played today.
