Chandigarh, April 23, 2025:– The Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee today organized a solemn candlelight procession at Sector 17 Plaza to mourn and protest the recent brutal killing of innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves across the nation, once again highlighting the urgent need to end the menace of terrorism and uphold the values of peace and unity.
Led by Chandigarh Pradesh Congress President H.S. Lucky, the procession saw participation from party workers, citizens, youth volunteers, and civil society members. Participants lit candles, held placards calling for justice and peace, and observed a moment of silence in memory of the victims.
In his statement, H.S. Lucky strongly condemned the cowardly act of violence, said that the killing of innocent tourists in Pahalgam is a heinous and inhuman act that shakes the conscience of every Indian. Such acts of terror aim to spread fear and divide our society, but we must respond with solidarity, compassion, and unwavering resolve. The Chandigarh Pradesh Congress stands with the families of the victims in their hour of grief and calls upon all sections of society to unite against terrorism. He further urged the central government to ensure swift justice and enhance measures for the safety of citizens, especially in vulnerable regions.
