PKK Celebrates International World Dance Day

Chandigarh, April 29, 2025:-Pracheen Kala Kendra organized a musical evening studded with beautiful dance presentations in the loving memory of Guru Kanhiya Lal ji who was a Kathak guru par excellence to mark International World Dance day at its M.L. Koser Indoor Auditorium at 6:30 pm onwards where national and international students of Kendra who are learning intricacies of Kathak under ancient Guru Shishya Parampara showcased their talent and demonstrate the ample proof of their remarkable training being imparted at Kendra.

This show was presented under the direction of Dance faculty of Kendra Guru Brij Mohan Gangani , Guru Yogesh Sharma and Mrs. Rakhi. Approximately 25  students participated in this cultural evening.

The program commenced with presentation by   students  under the direction of Mrs. Rakhi. They presented kathak dance on the bols of Bhajan composed by Padmavibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj ji , which was highly appreciated by the audience. Students namely Mohana ,Parisha , Mansi ,Tanishi and Saumya participated .   The accompanying artists Rakhi on Padhant, Guru Yogesh Sharma on Nagma, Bhaskar and Akshay Sharma on Tabla enthralled the audience with their wonderful accompaniment.

After this one of Guru Yogesh Sharma's student Galndale  from Zimbave took the centre stage , he  presented  Vishnu  Vandana followed by Shiv stuti by the students  Vriddhi, Aashi and Anadiika, which was appreciated by all. After this, a melodic Ram Bhajan was presented by the international students of Pracheen  Kala Kendra namely  Rewan from Egypt and Nahian from Bangladesh. They were accompanied by Guru Yogesh Sharma on Padhant and Akshay Sharma on Tabla.

After this, pure Kathak dace was presented under the direction of Guru Brij Mohan Gangani. In this, Mehak Gulati, Kriti Garg, Vamika and Akriti presented Gat, Amad, Uthan, Tode, Tukde etc. followed by a Vishnu Vandana composed in Dhamar taal was presented by  Rashi Shukla Sikri and Riddhima. Then the international student of the Kendra Gandjhina from Tajikistan presented Ganesh Vandana set to Jhap taal.

Team of fine accompanists like  Guru Brij Mohan Gangani on Padhant, Guru Yogesh Sharma on Vocal, Shri Pramod Gangani on Tabla, Shimpi Kashyap on Vocal, Shri Pravesh Kumar on Harmonium and Daksh Gangani on Padhant added success to the event.

All these students won the hearts of the audience by beautiful performances of Kathak dance. The Registrar of the Kendra  Guru Dr. Shobha Koser and Deputy Registrar Dr. Samira Koser encouraged the students with words of appreciation and congratulate  the Gurus  for their efforts.
