Founder of NGO Shree Shyam Karuna Foundation Amitabh Rungta Felicitated by College Principals

Panchkula, November 6, 2024:- Inspired by the Haryana government's promise to support the education of underprivileged girls, Amitabh Rungta, a well-known social worker and founder of Non-Governmental Organization(NGO) Shree Shyam Karuna Foundation, has launched an initiative to provide financial aid for the higher education of needy female students. The foundation is currently offering financial assistance to economically disadvantaged students at several colleges, including Government P.G. College for Women, Sector-14, Panchkula; Shri Mata Mansa Devi Sanskrit College, Panchkula; and Government College, Barwala.

During the felicitation ceremony held at Government P.G. College for Women, the beneficiary students expressed heartfelt thanks to Amitabh Rungta for his generosity, which has inspired them to pursue higher education. All the principals present at the event praised the social initiatives of the Shree Shyam Karuna Foundation and urged Amitabh Rungta to expand the foundation's efforts to help more girls, benefiting society as a whole. Beneficiary students from various colleges also personally thanked Amitabh Rungta.

At the event, Amitabh Rungta and his wife Anupama Rungta presented cheques to as many as 16 financially disadvantaged girl students for supporting their college  education .

Amitabh Rungta, the founder of the Shri Shyam Karuna Foundation, said that his step to provide financial aid to needy students is an effort to bring about a positive change in society, in line with the government's policies. He believes that people at large should be made aware of such initiatives, so that other individuals and NGOs also contribute to a brighter future for girls, strengthening the government's efforts in this direction.

He added that he is deeply honoured to receive blessings from the college principals and students.

Reeta Gupta, Principal of SMM Sanskrit College, Panchkula, stated thatsuch financial support raises awareness about the importance of girls' education and provides opportunities for the beneficiary students.

Dr. Richa Setia, Principal of Government College for Women, Panchkula, said that the support provided by the Shree Shyam Karuna Foundation for the education of needy students is highly commendable. She is grateful to Amitabh Rungta for helping the underprivileged girls in our college continue their education and also for planting fruit-bearing trees around the college hostel.
 
Prof. (Dr) Hemant Verma ,  Principal of Government College, Barwala, said that he expresses his gratitude to the foundation for this support. It will play an important role in brightening the future of our needy girl students.

Beneficiary students expressed their thanks for Amitabh Rungta's initiative, saying that we are all grateful to you for helping us continue our education. Our financial situation was poor, and it was difficult for us to continue our studies. Then we learned that you help with scholarships, and we benefited from it. Your contribution is helping us achieve our goals.

From 2023 to 2025, the Shree Shyam Karuna Foundation has provided support to 63 needy girls studying at Government P.G. College for Women, Panchkula; Shri Mata Mansa Devi Sanskrit College, Panchkula; and Government College, Barwala, as well as other colleges and schools. The foundation has extended its assistance beyond Panchkula, reaching areas in even Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
