Chandigarh, Sept.23, 2024:-UT girls suffered a 65-run defeat from Punjab in the opening encounter of the Women Under 19 Friendly T20 Series of three state associations which kicked off at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36 on Monday. Uttarakhand is the third team in the series as this event will continue till September 27.
While batting first, Punjab scored 143/6 in the stipulated twenty overs as skipper Vanshika Mahajan dominated the show by scoring 84 runs off 51 balls which was studded with two sixes and 12 boundaries. Harsimranjit Kaur (35) supported her well. Aahan Vaidya and Tarunika took two wickets each from the bowling side. In reply, Chandigarh collapsed for 78 runs in the 18th over wherein wicketkeeper batter Ganika scored 36 runs. From the opposition team, Mohini Rana and Shruti Tiwari took three wickets each.
