Chandigarh, Sept. 10, 2024:- In a significant move, the Shiromani Akali Dal (Global) (SADG), an organization dedicated to the welfare of Sikhs, Sikh Gurudwaras, and the people of Punjab, announced its resolution to participate in the upcoming Punjab SGPC Gurudwara Elections and Delhi Vidhan Sabha Elections through the National Lok Kalyan Party (NLKP). This decision was unanimously passed by the SADG core committee, reflecting the collective will of its members to engage in both religious and political spheres for the betterment of Punjab and its people.
S. Inder Preet Singh, the President of SADG, emphasized the organization's unwavering focus on the governance and sanctity of Sikh Gurudwaras. Our candidates will represent the core values of SADG—integrity, inclusivity, and a steadfast commitment to the Sikh community.
Recognizing the broader challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, SADG will extend its mission to the political arena by participating in the 2027 Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections under the banner of the National Lok Kalyan Party (NLKP). This strategic move allows us to serve all citizens of Punjab, transcending religious, caste, and regional barriers. Harmeet Singh, the Vice President and Spokesperson of SADG and NLKP, said that NLKP will field candidates who embody the ethos of welfare for all, purpose-driven governance, and a commitment to addressing the real issues that Punjab faces, such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
In addition to the Punjab SGPC and Vidhan Sabha elections, SADG has also decided to participate in the upcoming Delhi Vidhan Sabha Elections under the banner of NLKP. Arun Kumar Sharma, the Delhi President of NLKP, said that this move aims to bring to the fore the challenges faced by Delhi citizens and the unhappiness with the present state government, while striving for a better tomorrow.
SADG invites members of the press, the Sikh community, and all citizens of Punjab to join them in this pivotal moment as they chart a course toward a more inclusive and prosperous future. Aman Bandvi, the General Secretary of SADG and NLKP, said that we look forward to your continued support and engagement as we take these important steps forward.
