DBU's Faculty of Nursing observed World TB Day

Mandi Gobindgarh, April 02, 2024:-Faculty of Nursing at Desh Bhagat University in collaboration with the School of Pharmacy, observed World TB Day at the Community Health Centre in Chanarthal Kalan, Fatehgarh Sahib. The theme for this year's event was "Yes! We can end TB."

Students from the B.Sc. Nursing 5th Semester, B.Sc. Nursing 4th year and the School of Pharmacy participated in a Role Play activity to raise awareness about tuberculosis within the community. Through these performances, they highlighted the signs and symptoms of TB, its treatment options, and preventive measures. Following the Role Play, the students organized a rally to further spread awareness about tuberculosis and its prevention. They emphasized that TB is treatable with antibiotics but can be fatal if left untreated.

The event was coordinated by Gurwinder Kaur and Surbi Sharma, with guidance from Dr. Lovesampuranjot Kaur (HOD, Mental Health Nursing) and Dr. Prabhjot Singh (HOD, Community Health Nursing). Dr. Surinder Singh, SMO of CHC, Chanarthal Kalan, provided valuable insights into TB and its prevention strategies. He stressed the importance of practicing good hygiene, including covering one's mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, avoiding close contact with others, and wearing a mask.
