Chandigarh, Mar.22, 2024:-
Chandigarh Congress today accused the Modi government of being unjust and unfair and trying to disturb the democratic norms and values.
In a Press conference addressed by Pawan Kumar Bansal former union minister and H S Lucky President Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee both the leaders came down heavily on the Modi government for its dictatorial attitude and suppression of the opposition parties and its leadership.
Pawan Bansal said that eleven accounts of the Congress party have been frozen to disturb the electoral environment in the country and to scuttle the chance of congress party in the ensuing lok sabha polls. Modi government was using agencies like ED, Income tax department and CBI to settle political scores. He demanded that these accounts should be de-frozen to ensure level playing field. It concerns the credibility of the electrol process which has been built over 70 years in the country added Bansal.
H S Lucky said that the Modi government wants to cripple the Congress party financially which happens to be the principle opposition party. On the one hand ruling Bjp has amassed huge resources through electoral bonds and cash, on the other hand it had frozen the accounts of congress party. A sum of Rs 115.32 crores has been forcibly withdrawn by the Income tax department from the accounts of congress party and lien of 210 crore has been marked on these accounts this is for congress party receiving a meagre sum of Rs 14.49 lacs from its MP's as donation in cash. Which cannot be justified by any means. The recent arrest of Delhi chief minister Arvind kejriwal and earlier of jharkhand chief minister Hemant soren are classic examples of political vendetta which has been unleashed on political opponents. Modi government is afraid of India alliance that is why it is stooping so low. The claim of 400 plus seats of Bjp falls flat with such acts which shows their fear added Lucky.
H S Lucky further said that the Congress party will solidly stand with all the opposition parties including Aam Aadmi Party in the Modi government's tirade against them. Among those present included Vikram chopra treasurer and Ache lal gour, treasurer and General Secretary of the party respectively.
