Indus Public School won first position in the inter-school competitions of students from schools across Punjab, brightening the name of Kharar constituency across the state. These competitions were held at Mata Gujri College of Fatehgarh Sahib, under the Environment Education Program 2023-24. About four hundred students from 27 schools across Punjab participated. This two-day state inter-school competition organized under the banner of 'Nature' Sponsored by the Council of Science and Technology, Chandigarh and organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India. The students participated in different activities related to environment maintenance such as educational workshops, exhibitions, making collages, quiz, poster presentation and story writing etc. competitions and gave each other a tough competition.
Collage Making Competition on 'Climate Quiz', Poster Presentation Competition on 'Solution to Current Environmental Problems', Quiz Competition on 'Environmental Crisis' Slogan Writing Competition on 'Energy Conservation and Plastic Pollution' Online Students from all schools competed against each other in competitions like 'Just a Minute' on the theme of 'Save Energy for an Energetic Future', writing essays and making video films through the medium. In the end, the students of Indus Public School won the all the trophy by defeating the students of all the schools.
On this occasion, School Director Colonel (Ret.) SPS Cheema and School Principal Parampreet Kaur Cheema congratulated all the students on their achievement. Director Cheema lauded the state and central government institutions for this constructive effort and said that this environmental fair promoted environmental awareness and participation in environmental maintenance among school students and also on important environmental issue while providing a suitable platform to showcase creativity.
