Chandigarh October 12, 2021:- As many as 100 people participated in a 'Walkathon', which was organized by Amcare Hospital, Zirakpur to Mark World Arthritis Day on Tuesday.
Abhitej Nibber, director of the hospital flagged-off the 'Walkathon' that after taking a round of adjacent VIP road culminated at hospital. .
N K Sharma, the local sitting MLA also joined the walk and appreciated hospital and participants efforts to spread awareness on adopting a healthy lifestyle to keep arthritis at a distance.
Speaking during the occasion, Dr. Gagandeep Gupta, senior consultant orthopaedics & joint replacement said that within 10 years, India will have the largest arthritis population in the world. Thus exercises like daily brisk walking are a must to keep joint health and functional. If knees are severely damaged, it cripples life as the patient is not able to move, he pointed out.
