DBU organized Webinar on Gender Equality and Women’s Rights

Chandigarh May 03, 2021:-Placebo Club, Faculty of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh in association with Legal Aid Club and Women Grievance Cell organized an expert talk on the topic "Gender Equality and Women's Rights". Dr. Arun Kumar (Vatsa), Chairman of Digitally Restoration & Grievance Settlement Association, an NGO with the Delhi Government was the special guest and Ms. Madhubala and Ms. Preeti Pandya were the eminent speakers. The objective of the lecture was to describe the importance of responding to the specific needs of women and girls in humanitarian crises and the circumstances many women and girls find themselves in within the country and across the region.

The special Guest and the speakers were welcomed digitally by Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor Desh Bhagat University, and Prof. B. D. Dhiman, Principal, School of Pharmacy and Khushpal, Principal, S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University. 

The speakers explained in detail the importance of not only meeting the needs but also ensuring that we're grounding our support and interventions in strategies that build their resilience and empower the women – intending to create equal societies and intuitions and yet how to do this effectively continues to be our common challenge.

All the faculty members and students of the School of Pharmacy, S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, and Institute of Law learned a lot from this excellent talk. At the end of the event, Dr. Puja Gulati delivered the vote of thanks to the eminent speakers. 

Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur congratulated staff, students, and members of Placebo Club, Legal Aid Club, and Women Grievance Cell for the successful conduct of the lecture. Dr. Shalini Gupta, the Vice-Chancellor, acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the whole team and conveyed best wishes in the future to organize these types of lectures.
