Chandigarh March 30, 2021:- The Department of Fine Arts of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh, organised A National Online Poster-Making Competition to mark the celebrations of 'Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav: India @ 75.' The theme of this competition was 'My Idea of Freedom.' Overall 70 entries from different colleges and universities of the country were received for the competition in which Sahil Thakur, a BA final year student of Government P. G. College, Ambala won the first prize, Mohit Kashyap, a student of Fine Arts Department, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra bagged the second prize and Muskaan Kalra from Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Chandigarh won the third prize.
The main aim of this competition was to enlighten the youth about India's freedom struggle and to make them aware about the rich legacy of Indian freedom fighters. The participants made posters in different mediums to commemorate the movement of freedom and their notion of freedom.
The Principal, Dr Jatinder Kaur, lauded the enthusiasm of the participants and appreciated the efforts of the department in broadening the artistic and historical horizons of the students.
