Three Black Acts: Haryana Congress Committee Submits a Memorandum to the Governor of Haryana

Chandigarh Sept.28, 2020:- The Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee on the directions of Smt. Sonia Gandhi, President of Indian National Congress and Rahul Gandhi, former President of INC, submitted a Memorandum to the Governor of Haryana for the President of India condemning the three black Acts of Modi Government. The Memorandum has demanded that the Hon'ble Presidents should use its good offices to undo the three black Acts which are endangering the existence of the farmers, labor & arhtias. The Memorandum says that by dismantling the APMC this whole system of the sale and purchase of agricultural commodities will be shattered and will result in disastrous situation in the country. 

Before proceeding to Haryana Raj Bhawan to present the Memorandum to the Governor of Haryana a meeting was held in the office of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee in the presence of Vivek Bansal, Incharge, Party Affairs in Haryana, presided over by Kumari Selja, President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee.

After the meeting the procession led by Kumari Selja, President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee alongwith Vivek Bansal, Incharge, Party Affairs in Haryana was halted by the Chandigarh police at a short distance from Haryana Pradesh Congress office and only six leaders were allowed to proceed to Raj Bhawan to present the Memorandum to the Governor of Haryana. A number of Party leaders and workers were rounded up by the police and were taken to Police Station, Sector 17, Chandigarh. Later on Vivek Bansal and Kumari Selja went to Sector 17 Police and got the retained Party leaders and workers released.

Addressing the meeting, Vivek Bansal exhorted the Party rank and file to stand as one man to implement the directions of Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to lodge a strong protest against the three black Acts. He said that the BJP passed these black Acts treacherously and violating all the Constitutional norms and is forcing on the people of the country. He said that the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee will organize Kisan Sammelans at all the Vidhan Sabha and district headquarters on October 02, 2020, the birthday of Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. These sammelans will be organized by Party MLAs, M.P., and senior leaders of the party in their respective areas. He also said that from October 02 to October 31, Party rank and file will collect signature of farmers and other cross sections of people condemning the black Acts. The signature document will be submitted to the AICC.

 Speaking on the occasion, Kumari Selja said that the Congress Party has been opposing the Modi Government from the very beginning of these steps of bringing these black Acts from the stage of issuing Ordinances and passing them by violating all the democratic norms. The Party had requested the Hon'ble President not to sign these bills, but the pleadings were not acceded to by the Hon'ble President.  She said that the MSP is the dire need to save the farmers, labour and arhtias, but the BJP Government is deliberately going to steam role the APMS Act.  She said that in Bihar the abolition of APMC has resulted in disastrous situation and the farmers have been reduced to labours and most of them are going to other States to work as farm-hands.  Kumari Selja reiterated that the Congress Party will fully stand with the farmers and will continue to fight against the atrocities of the Modi Government. The PCC President said that the APMC was brought by Smt. Indira Gandhi refined by Rajiv Gandhi and now Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are also advocating for bringing the whole country under the APMC system. She said that the Pradesh Congress will carry out all the directions of the Hon'ble Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. She expressed confidence that with the able guidance of Vivek Bansal the Pradesh Congress will achieve all the targets.

 The meeting was also addressed by Smt. Kiran Chaudhary and  Varun Chaudhry, both MLAs, Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav, former Minister, Virender Rathore, Secretary, AICC, Sushil Indora, ex-M.P., Subhash Batra, ex-Minister, Anand Singh Dangi and Banta Ram, both ex-MLAs, Sardar Tarlochan Singh, Party candidate in last Vidhan Sabha elections.

 The meeting remembered Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh, whose birthday falls today.
