Chandigarh Sept.19, 2020:- Desh Bhagat University as an endeavor towards fighting climate change and to save electricity installed solar panel in the campus.
Ahamed Kabeer M, Senior Regional Manager accompanied by Nagarjuna, Senior Manager, Indian Overseas Bank was the chief guest for the inaugural program.
Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor DBU and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur welcomed the guest and said that the varsity has a plan to install 200 KV capacity solar panel units. In the first phase of installation, solar panel for 25KV capacity has been installed on the rooftop of Desh Bhagat Dental College & Hospital. In its mission towards a sustainable campus, DBU is focusing on various areas–water, energy, natural ecosystems and waste management.
Dr. Sandeep Singh, Vice President said that DBU is prioritizing the utilization of renewable energy for generating electricity for its classrooms and buildings to create a sustainable campus.
Dr. Shalini Gupta, Vice Chancellor DBU said India has committed to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions intensity and electricity generation from non-fossil sources, we are glad to be part of nation's commitment.
