Baba Banda Bahadur Martyrdom Day Observed at Desh Bhagat University

Chandigarh June 24, 2020:-Desh Bhagat University observed the martyrdom day of first Sikh ruler Baba Banda Singh Bahadur on 24th June 2020. Holy path of Shri Sukhmani Sahib was organized in the varsity to commemorate the sacrifices of Banda Singh Bhadhur. Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor Desh Bhagat University and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur was also present at the occasion and paid their obeisance to the Sikh warrior Banda Singh Bahadur, his son Ajay Singh and a hundred other Sikhs, who were massacred by Mughal rulers in Delhi. After the Bhog,  Gurbani Kirtan  was recited and kadah Prasad was distributed among devotees.

Dr. Shalini Gupta, Vice Chancellor Desh Bhagat University paid her homage and spoke about the land reforms and property rights of farmers which were firstly implemented by Banda Singh Bahadur in the history. Staff members of the university also attended the ceremony and offered their tribute.

Dr Varinder Singh ,Advisor to Chancellor, Dr.Kulbhushan,  Registrar ,Er.  Pramod Mandal Controller of  examinations, directors of various schools paid homage to the great warrior. The event was organized in Desh Bhagat Dental College and Hospital and the social distancing was kept well. Every staff member was wearing mask and sanitizers were also made available for all present.
