PU NSS Volunteers Completes Kalka Kasauli Trek

Chandigarh 12th September:- The total of 17 NSS volunteers from PU completed the 12 kms Kalka to Kasauli nature trail trek on this weekend. The aim of the trek was to instill the spirit of adventure and creating awareness about healthy lifestyle choices. The trek was led by Jeesu Jaskanwar Singh, NSS Programme Officer. The following 17 volunteers, from various departments of Panjab University, participated in the trekking and hiking activity; Sandeep, Madhu, Anjali, Dipa, Jenab, Aarzoo, Jasmeen, Madhvi, Neha, Sanjay, Vikrant, Raju, Vineet, Sandeep Gupta, Harsh Vardhan, Gurpreet and Dara Singh.

The volunteers visited the heritage market of the Kasuali. The volunteers had the first hand experience of environment education and wildlife conservation while trekking on the nature trail. The volunteers witnessed the various facets of wildlife. The volunteers also encountered/witnessed the Sambhar, various species of butterflies and birds, monkeys and Langurs in their natural habitat.
