Chandigarh 29th August:- Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising 13 different Associations (representing over 1000 Unaided Colleges of Punjab) demanded extension in the cut off date of admissions from the Punjab Government. In the interest of students in the colleges, JAC urged Punjab Govt. to instruct all affiliated Universities of Punjab to extend the cut off date.
Dr. Anshu Kataria, Spokesman, JAC while speaking said that the last date of admissions in GNDU, Amritsar; Panjab University, Chandigarh; Punjabi University, Patiala etc is 31st August. He urged to extend this date to 10th September without late fees fine.
Anshu Kataria further added that many students couldn't approach the colleges/Universities for admission due to the violence in Punjab and Haryana in last week. Hence considering this, university should give chance to the students and extend the cut off date of admissions.
Further due to shut down of Internet services in Punjab and Haryana entries of many admitted students couldn't be made on the respective admission portal of IKG-PTU, Jalandhar and MRS-PTU, Bathinda.
