Chandigarh 09^th June:- Chandigarh Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes & Minorities Financial & Development Corporation Ltd. Chandigarh has been providing Skill Development Vocational Training in various trades. Presently, the courses in the trade of Cutting, Tailoring and Embroidery, Computer, Dress and Fashion Designing and Beauty Culture Course, is being conducted at Aasha Kiran Building, Sector 46 and Small Flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh.

One new course in convergence with Jan Shikshan Sansthan in the trade of Stenography (English) is likely to be started in the 2^nd week of June, 2016. The Corporation is conducting the survey to explore the possibility for starting the courses in the trade of Refrigeration and AC Technician, Electrical Trade, Food Production, Gardening and House Keeping.

The aim of the Corporation is to provide Self-Employment Oriented Training to the target groups FREE OF COST and even provides  stipend @ Rs. 1500/-per month (in Cash & Kind) along with trade certificate after successful completion of the course.

Promoting Self-Confidence: In order to promote self-confidence, the Corporation arranged competition amongst students getting training either in regular course or crash course so that they may themselves judge their skill. One competition on 21^st May, 2016 amongst students getting training in Mehandi Course was arranged at Rehabilitation Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh and students getting 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd position were awarded. Similarly, fabric competition was arranged on 4^th June, 2016 at VTC, AashaKiran Building, Sector 46, Chandigarh and on 5^th June, 2016, the students getting training under various trades at VTC-46 Chandigarh served sweet cold water with black channa/prashad by arranging "Chhabeel.
