Chandigarh 16th June:- British Paints, established 1919, and amongst the leading paint companies in India added another feather to its cap by achieving the 'GreenPro' certification for their interior & exterior emulsions paints. They are one of the few organizations in the country who took the initiative of coming up with environment friendly products and as a result achieved excellence in Green Performance Ratings. By receiving this coveted GreenPro certification, British Paints has demonstrated their leadership and commitment towards Greener and Cleaner environment.
Affiliated to Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the IGBC certification is provided only to the companies who have a clear vision for improving the environment friendly footprint of their products and processes throughout its life cycle. British Paints has done well to reduce the VOC levels in their paints and also limiting the usage of formaldehyde within global standards.
Ranjit Singh, President of British Paints proudly announced this achievement of the company. Delighted to accept the prestigious award, he said that we will make endless efforts to continually improve upon our entire manufacturing and related processes, so as to produce paints which are not only environment friendly to use, but also deliver superior value to the consumers. He added that we today have a diversified portfolio of well-recognized brands that are low in VOC contents, contribute towards sustainability. We have taken these initiatives perhaps far earlier than other industry players.
Ranjit Singh also added that they will share with their dealers and customer's news of this achievement and also educate them on how to better use and promote Green products.
British Paints implemented several measures for enhancing 'Green' performance of their products and their manufacturing processes. The brand has performed well in bringing down the resource consumption in their Plants. They have significantly reduced their energy & water consumption. At the same time, British Paints needs to focus on utilization of renewable energy sources for meeting their energy requirements – solar energy usage is on the anvil. They are also extremely conscious of being a zero discharge company, for which necessary equipment have been installed in all manufacturing units.
