Chandigarh 06th May:- Videocon group through its Punjab arm, Connect Broadband, has created a wifi zone at the Golden Temple, Amritsar. Latest technology has been used to create this infrastructure. High speed internet will now be accessible to all devotees visiting the holy shrine. This service is being provided at absolutely zero cost.
The internet access will help visitors to access internet for various other services such online rail bookings, travel arrangements, banking transactions etc. Internet has been provided in all Sarai's and surrounding areas to ensure that outstation visitors to the holy city stay connected with their dear ones.
Entire cost of setting up the infrastructure and also the monthly recurring expenses on internet bandwidth will be borne by the Videocon group. The network will also be maintained by the group.
The internet can be accessed very easily. User has to send an SMS <Connect> to 9653444555 to get username and the password.
Speaking on this initiative, Arvind Bali, Director and CEO, Connect Broadband & Videocon Telecommunications Limited, said that Videocon group is focused on creating value for society all around. Under the free internet project we are setting up wifi hospots across the region for convenience of people.
