Mount Carmel School's Winter Carnival ‘MCC-2016’ Concludes

Chandigarh 01st February:-  The second and concluding day of the Winter Carnival, 'MCC – 2016' organized by Mount Carmel School, Sector 47-B, Chandigarh, also attracted large crowds. Ex. Mount Carmelites, parents & grand-parents of the students studying in the School and other visitors were seen thronging various stalls manned by teachers and students of the School. As on the previous day the swings were one of the main attractions of the day. The students and teachers of the host School kept the Carnival stage alive with Bhangra, Band performances, Western Dance, and the third and final round of the Fashion show for Mr.  & Miss 'MCC 2016'- a contest for the students of class X of the School. Earlier in the day some Inter School Competitions viz. Best out of Waste, Paper Quieling, Greeting Mark making, School Rock Bands, Mimicry were also held during the day. A prize distribution function was held in the afternoon and prizes were given to the winners of various competitions which were held during the 2 days of the Carnival, by, Davesh Moudgil, Senior Deputy Mayor, Chandigarh, the Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony of the Carnival.

In all, the Carnival proved to be wonderful days out for many families as the parents; grand parents and children enjoyed themselves to the full. The parents applauded the efforts of the School Management for organizing the Carnival as such type of events help a lot in the all-round development of the students and provide an excellent opportunity to all the students to show case their talents in their respective fields. 

The salient feature of this Carnival is that the School Management has decided to donate all the proceeds of this Carnival to the Chennai Relief Fund. Mount Carmel School Carnival is an annual feature in the School Calendar and this is organized to inculcate amongst the students a sense of social responsibility and it also provides a great learning to the students in many ways as they man their stalls, manage the stage and performances etc. Every year a part of the proceeds goes towards a social cause.
