IITF-2015:Adviser Inaugurates Chandigarh Pavilion: 10 Stalls Set up in 444 Sq. Mtr. of Space

Chandigarh 26th News:- The Adviser to the Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh, Vijay Dev, inaugurated the Chandigarh Pavilion at the India Trade Promotion Organization, New Delhi, in the presence of various Head of departments of the Chandigarh Administration with a lot of enthusiasm and high spirit. The India Trade Promotion Organization, New Delhi has organized the 35th India International Trade Fair 2015 in the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 14th to 27th of November, 2015. The theme for the IITF-2015 is "MAKE IN INDIA". The main objective of the Fair is to boost business opportunities and to share various techniques/ reforms used by different states as well as countries in business.

While interacting with media at IITF-2015 at Dehli, Vijay Dev, said that chandigarh Administration through Industries Department has set up Chandigarh pavilion in 444 sq. mtr. space in Hall No. 6, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi to participate in the India International Trade Fair-2015. In the Chandigarh Pavilion, 10 stalls have been constructed out of which in  four stalls, the departments of the Chandigarh Administration viz. Non Conventional Energy sources wing of Science & Technology Department, Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation, Tourism Department and Government Museum & Arts Gallery have established its stalls in order to highlight the achievements made in the respective fields and to educate/ motivate the visitors to visit the various tourist spots of Chandigarh. In remembrance of the Great Master Architect, Le Corbusier, the Chandigarh administration hosted the Symposium from the 9th of Oct to the 12th of Oct. which has also been displayed in the Chandigarh Pavilion. Different types of tapestries and works of Le Corbusier, architect of the city beautiful, Chandigarh are also exhibited in the Chandigarh Pavilion.

Home Secretary Anurag Aggarwal said that besides its 6 MSMEs of U.T., Chandigarh have setup their stalls to exhibit the products manufactured by them viz decorative show pieces, planters & sculptures, wall hanging and decorative glasses, Natural Herbal Aggarbati-Dhoop, Cones and Hawan Dhoop Powder, Jute Basket Painting for flower arrangements, string lights and lamp, Lamp Shades, idols of different types, antique metals, aggarbatties, Krishna bastra, 3D Maps, Charts, Globes, Nursing Dummies and other teaching aids. He also said that in view of the theme of the India International Trade Fair 2015, Chandigarh Administration has tried to depict the culture of manufacturing at lower level to promote 'Make in India' theme. Various departments of U.T. Chandigarh have showcased the 'City Beautiful' through a wide range of stalls, while at the same time, putting an effort to evolve into a 'Smart City.' The beauty, cleanliness, greenery and openness of the Union Territory of Chandigarh have been depicted in the Chandigarh Pavilion so as to attract the tourists to the City Beautiful. The view of Sukhna Lake & Open Hand has been displayed in the Chandigarh Pavilion. The idea of Chandigarh 2.0 is a metaphor for a futuristic Chandigarh; A new vision of seeing Chandigarh on the" Next Level" or what is called a " Smart City".  

Adviser Vijay Dev said thatthe MSMEs which have set up its stalls are receiving a number of trade inquiries from the visitors and they are also expecting good business through this Fair.  The Chandigarh pavilion is being visited by approximately 60,000 to 70,000 people daily and on Sunday the 21st November, 2015, the crowd was about 90000 to one lac. On this occasion Advised also shared his vision about to make Chandigarh Smart City.

The Chandigarh Administration has also celebrated CHANDIGARH DAY, today the November 25, 2015 at 5:30 PM at Lal Chowk Theatre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi in the presence of Sh. Vijay Dev, IAS, Advisor to the Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh. A lamp lightning ceremony has been carried out traditionally followed by live performance from renowned Punjabi Singers Jassi Gill & Babbal Rai. Everybody enjoyed their time at the event.
