Chandigarh 17th October:- The Student Nurses Association UT, Chandigarh and National Institute of Nursing Education, PGI, Chandigarh today organised a "Fete and Sale" to contribute for poor patients funds. The fete was inaugurated by Dr (Mrs) Savita Malhotra, Dean, PGI, Chandigarh. She visited all the stalls along with Dr Sandhya Ghai, Principal, NINE. She appreciated efforts of the Principal, Faculty and students, and encouraged them to continue with such extracurricular activities to keep the students motivated for such a welfare cause. Total 26 stalls were installed, out of which 10 stalls were of games, 2 of music, 4 of arts, and 10 were of food items. Competitive spirit was enthused among the public and students by different games such as musical chair, sand games, ping pong ball, tambola, antakshri, water games, balloon shooting, pick pop corn etc .
The art of the students was well appreciated on the stall of handmade creations, decorated diyas and painted candles. The students and public was also fascinated by the nail art, mehndi and tattoo painting. The most creative, innovative and eye catching stall was the solo exhibition of the paintings by Ms. Aakansha Ghai.
Food and snack stalls demonstrated food preparations from different parts of the country. The most popular was Punjab's makki di roti te sarson da saag, kadi chawal, and chole kulche. South special was samber vada,and Himachal's special was siddu. There was a Navratra special stall which included fruit chat, shake, and lamonade. Other mouth watering dishes were bhelpuri, golgappa, chat papdi, sandwich, and muffins. All students and visitors enjoyed the activities and food, and also contributed for the cause. The day full of fun and frolic ended with cheerful faces and dance steps at song dedication and DJ stall.
