Election Commission of India orders Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls-2016

Chandigarh 14^th October:- It is for the information of General public and Political Parties that the Election Commission of India has ordered for Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls of Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency with reference to 1^st January 2016 as the qualifying date. Draft rolls shall be available for inspection in the offices of the concerned Asstt. Electoral Registration Officers between 15^th October to 06^th November, 2015 from 9:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M.  Draft Roll for the entire Constituency would also be available for inspection in election Office and in the website of his department i.e. ww.ceochandigahr.gov.in.

Those residents who are 18 years or above as on 01.01.2016 and the residents of Chandigarh, whose names have not been included in the Electoral Rolls, can file their claims along with the supporting documents in the office of concerned Asstt. Electoral Registration Officers offices or in the Sampark Centres of Chandigarh Administration on all working days from 15^th October to 06^th November, 2015. In addition to above the claims and objections will also be invited on the Special Campaign dates i.e. 25^th October & 01^st November, 2015 from 9:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M. the claims are to be filed in the prescribed Forms, 6, 6-A, 7, 8 and 8A, which will be available free of coast at the locations mentioned above or the residents can download it from the official website of this department i.e. ww.ceochandigahr.gov.in. The Claims and objections shall be decided by the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers under their jurisdiction.

Therefore, all the eligible voters whose names have not been entered in the Electoral Rolls or who require certain modifications/corrections and transposition of entries in the Electoral Rolls may submit their claims as per the schedule mentioned above.
