Chandigarh 30th September:- India is diverse with many languages and dialects, but one language that everybody speaks in India, is cricket it is favorite Indian past time and you can see the kids and grown-ups a like playing cricket, sometimes even in the small fields or the narrow streets. This is India's love for cricket. The cricketers that crown our national team have struggled a lot to make their place. There is lot of talent that stays hidden and limited to the streets and small play fields.
To provide an opportunity to anyone who has ever thought of being the one to take the final wicket, or the one to score that much needed boundary, Desi Cricket Heroes (DCH) was launched here today by Harbans Singh Ghuman DCH president. He was accompanied by Gurpreet Singh, DCH vice president and Surender Kumar Saini, general secretary.
While talking to media here Harbans Singh Ghuman said that cricket is not just a game for India's but it's a religion for them where cricketers are treated next to God's. He said that almost every young boy has a dream of becoming a batsman like Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar ad bowler like Anil Kumble, adding that they came up with an idea of starting "DSH" which will be the biggest platform to promote local cricket talent of the North. He said that the DCH league will be held in the months of November and December and Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is the brand ambassador of DCH.
While speaking on the occasion DCH vice president Gurpreet Singh said while our national team is star-studded but they have reached at such a level after a long struggle. He added what is required is a lot of talent and hard work, adding that a lot of hidden talents remain confined to small playgrounds. He added that firstly it will be a platform for youth from the states of Punjab and Haryana and the idea is to expand the platform for more states in future and that cricket in this region has never been played before on such a big platform.
DCH general secretary Surinder Kumar Saini said without any big resources it is a big beginning, adding that it will not just remain confined to Punjab and Haryana as it will be taken to other states as well. He added the matches will be played keeping in mind international standards.
Prize Money: DCH president Ghuman announced the matches will be played in Punjab and Haryana and both states have been divided into four zones each. The winning team will be awarded Rs 3 lakh while the runners up team will get Rs 1.5 lakh prize money. The second and third prize winning teams will get Rs 71,000 and 41,000 respectively. Final Man of the Match will get Rs 9100 while Man of Series 12,000, Best Batsman and Bowler will get Rs 7100 while Best Fielder will get Rs 5100.

Punjab: Zone 1: Amritsar, TaranTaran, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala; Zone 2: Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Pathankot, NawahShahr; Zone 3: Bathinda, Sangrur, Faridkot, Moga; Zone 4: Patiala, Mohali, Ludhiana, and Ropar.
Haryana: Zone 1: Ambala, Panchkula, Yamuna Nagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal; Zone 2: Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal; Zone 3: Jind, Rohtak, Sirsa, Hisar, Bhiwani, Mahendergarh; Zone 4: Jhajhar, Fatehabad, Mewat, Palwal and Rewari.
How to Participate:
Surender Kumar Saini informed to be a part of DCH the age limit is 15 years or more. Any school, college, academies, university, organization, private firm or hospital teams can participate. Each participant will be required to produce valid identity card and photograph. Interested teams can submit applications till November 5, 2015 at Mohali DCH office at 666, second floor, Sector 70 or submit online applications by visiting website www.desicricketheroes.com
