Chandigarh 01st July:- Sri Krishna Institute of IT & Management, (SKIIM), Mohali, held a press-meet to share details of selection of Kunal Garg, in the prestigious Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) World Championship in Dallas, Texas, USA from 9th August to 12th August 2015. Kunal, a student of Hallmark Public School, Panchkula and who was tested at SKIIM, topped the National Level Competition of MOS in Powerpoint 2013 held in Delhi. He is one of the six students from all over India to have qualified for MOS Championship in USA. It is not just a feather in the cap of Kunal, his school & SKIIM but also the tricity. Kunal was also present at the media meet which was addressed jointly by top officials of SKIIM & Infuse IT. Infuse IT, is Microsoft's India partner for delivering all training & testing certifications in India.
Ms. Shaloo Chopra, MD, SKIIM, said that recently, Certiport which is Microsoft's testing & certification implementing agency across the World; conducted India level Championship at The Habitat Center, Delhi. A high level team from SKIIM had taken Kunal for the same. I am happy and proud to say that among the six chosen finalists, Kunal Garg – who is our test candidate, was selected for the Global Championship in a highly competitive contest. SKIIM is now an MOS Authorized Testing Centre (ATC) in the Tricity (Mohali, Chandigarh & Panchkula), Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh& Jammu & Kashmir, for conducting training & testing services for certifications of top most IT brands like Microsoft, Adobe, HP etc.
To take the Sri Krishna Institute of IT & Management(SKIIM) a step further and for the benefit of students, it was also announced by the Managing Director that the preliminary round for MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist- versions 2010 & 2013) will be conducted in 3 quarters, i.e. July – September, Oct – December and January – March. Top 3 winners from each quarter will be awarded and later shortlisted for MOS India level Championship which will be tentatively held in the month of May 2016. Sums up Ms. Shaloo Chopra said that we will work towards developing students' IT skills; in keeping with PM Narendra Modi's vision in this regard.
Kulvinder Soor, Director, Infuse IT (UK) said that from the last 15 years we have been running Microsoft Office Specialist training and testing. We have appointed SKIIM as representative Regional Office for the Northern Region." SKIIM is now authorised for training and testing in as many as 128 certifications& will soon open another Testing Centre in Panchkula. "It gives me great pleasure to say that a Champion who was tested at our North India Office – SKIIM, has emerged. He added that the achievement is noteworthy as nearly 350 IT whiz kids will be competing for honours from as many as 90 countries in USA..
