Workshop on Advanced Techniques in Gynecology on 21 & 22nd March

Chandigarh 20th March:- The Obstetrics and Gynecological Society of Northern India, is organizing a two day workshop and annual conference on 21-22nd March. Over 200 delegates from the tricity, Haryana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh are expected to attend the meeting. Workshop will relate to training in postpartum hemorrhage management and basic life support skills. This includes specific and timely measures to be taken by a team in response to occurrence of severe life threatening bleeding in a woman during the birthing process.

A symposium on evidence-based medicine will be held which will include presentation of guidelines for diagnosis and management of various complications of pregnancy such as, diabetes mellitus and hypertensive disorders. Controversial topics on management of breech delivery, role of primary surgery versus neo-adjuvant chemotherapy prior to surgery in ovarian cancer will be debated upon. With a recent spurt in frequent use of assisted reproductive techniques (IVF), role of surgical management of tubal block in infertile women will also be discussed. Experts will discuss the role of radiological interventions for management of fibroids in uterus which is a fairly frequently diagnosed condition in women. A thalassemia awareness programme will be presented which will include a puppet show as well. Several interesting and challenging clinical scenarios will be discussed by experts. In addition to this sessions will be held on free communications and poster presentation by several gynecologists and obstetricians.
