CBC demands to shift Car Bazar

Chandigarh 03rd February:-The members of Chandigarh Business Council  has demanded to shift the Car Bazaar from the  its present  location  at the  sector 7  Chandigarh.  The delegation of the  CBC under the Presidentship of Baldev Goel met the Additional  Commissioner Municipal Corporation Sunil  Bhatia  and apprised him the difficulties and problems of the Traders of the Sector 7, Madhya Marg due to Car Bazaar on Sunday.  The  MC officers  has called the organization  to seek their views  over the issue. 

Jagdish Arora, Chairman CBC and  President of sector 7,   Block II and  Subhash Sethi President of Traders Association Sector 7, Block I, along with chief advisor CBC  Baldev Aggarwal and  Satpal Garg and Members  P.N. Khanna, Rajesh Gupta and  Rajiv Goel apprised him the problems of the Traders who want to open their shops on Sunday as the facility provided by the Chandigarh Administration to keep open shops for seven days a week.  

Baldev Goel  said that  no parking space is available on Sunday for the customer visiting the shop.  Even on other working days parking is not available for the prospective customers because of the parking blocked by the second hand cars of Car Dealer and their second hand damaged cars. It was brought to the notice of the Officers that the parking area is public place where no commercial activity is not allowed. He added that Many Shopkeepers who have taken the shops on very high rent are unable to do the business as no parking space is available to their customers because  of second hand cars parked by the Car Dealers.

The  delegation  also represented before the officers that the Car Bazaar Dealers park about four hundred vehicles every day leaving no space for the customers and the shop owners to park their vehicles. As in this market parking area is already very short keeping in view the nature of business in Sector 7, Madhya Marg. 

The Additional   Commissioners listened the problems of Sector 7, Traders sympathically and assured to put up the case to Higher Authorities at the earliest possible. Baldev Goel, president of the  CBC  also said that the car dealers should also be provided with the some suitable alternative space to carry out their business.
