Dera Bassi constituency will be the first constituency in Punjab, having separate water supply scheme in each village: Sharma.

Mohali 30th December:- Dera Bassi constituency will be the first in Punjab state, which will be having separate water supply scheme in its each village for potable drinking water providing water at 70 Litres per day per person. This was stated by N. K. Sharma, MLA Dera Bassi and Chief Parliament Secretary Industry & Commerce, while non-formal addressing to press.

N. K. Sharma said that although the villages of Dera Bassi constituency have been inter-connected with different water supply schemes for potable water supply, but after providing separate water supply scheme for each village, there will not be any shortage of drinking water. He stated that Rs. 5 crore 87 lacs 6 thousand will be spent on providing rural water supply schemes in Dera Bassi constituency during current fiscal year. He said that Rs. 3 crore 33 lacs 68 thousand have been spent for providing water supply schemes in 7 villages namely Ballopur, Mirpur, Jwaharpur, Rampur Behal, Punsar, Saidpur and Samgoli. N. K. Sharma said that Rs. 2 crore 53 lacs 38 thousand will be spent on providing water supply schemes at village Daffarpur, Sihpur, Saarangpur & Kurali and the work for these schemes will be got completed during current fiscal year. N. K. Sharma further stated that in constituency Dera Bassi, Rs. 4 crore 94 lac 48 thousand will be spent for laying sewerage & providing treatment plant in 3 villages namely Jaula Kalan, Bhagsi & Mukandpur. N. K.  Sharma said that Rs. 1 crore 86 lacs 73 thousand will be spent for sewerage system in village Jaula Kalan, Rs. 1 crore 21 lac 49 thousand for village Bhagsi and Rs. 1 crore 86 lac 26 thousand spent for providing sewerage system in village Mukandpur.
