Chandigarh 26th November:- The Department of History, MCM DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organized a one of its kind workshop on 'Safal Yuva- Yuva Bharat' in collaboration with Vivekanand Foundation. Kumari Alkagauri Joshi, Jeevanvrati, Vivekananda Kendra and other representatives from the Vivekanand Foundation conducted this unique workshop with an aim to help the youth in choosing the right path and build in them the confidence and conviction to surmount mountain high obstacles in reaching their goals. A book exhibition was also held to introduce students to books which can enlighten their path of life. An overwhelming number of students partook enthusiastically in the activity and interacted with the members of foundation. The visiting team of representatives lauded the zealous participation by the students.
In another event, the Post- Graduate Department of Economics organized Eco-Nomos 2014, a PowerPoint presentation competition on current economically relevant issues such as Make in India, Swach Bharat, Nobel Prize etc. Thought provoking and educative presentations by students intrigued one and all. The participants explored various aspects of the issues and critically analyzed their role and impact on the society. Jasmine Saini and Ankita Walia bagged the 1st prize and the 2nd prize was won by Kankia Dutta and Preetika Bhasin. The prize of Best Speaker bagged by Jasmine Saini and Arushi Chaudhary.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Puneet Bedi applauded their endeavour and said that such diligent platforms are imperative to the overall personality development of the students. She encouraged the students to make the most of these exceptional opportunities.
