By 121 News Reporter

Chandigarh 06th November:- The Students of Hallmark Public School, Panchkula was celebrated Gurpurab in a very different way. While Cardboard is a mundane material, which is often cast off, thrown away or at best sometimes recycled – artists of Classes VIII & IX of Hallmark School, under the guidance of Visual Arts Faculty members- Ms Sheetal Gulati & Ms Taranpreet Kaur, transformed it into a 8 by 8 feet sculpture of Shree Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The process of making the sculpture was quite a challenge as using a material like cardboard to develop such a piece of art is not easy. However, the most challenging task was to install this huge sculpture.

Mrs Kavita Wadhwa, Principal, Hallmark School, said that the students & teachers worked hard for 5 days to make it possible. The sculpture gives a marvelous 3 D view and the paints used make the art work very appealing visually.  Jivtesh Garg, Director, Hallmark School, said that their young artists learnt this tough creative work. The best part is that the exercise not only was a befitting tribute to Guru Ji but also honed the students' ability to use hot glue and improved their box-cutting skills. Students of hallmark who are trained at recitation of Mool Mantra gave a rendition of the same. The mass recitation of the Mool Mantra echoed in the school's premises the universal teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Teachers also shared Guru Ji's inspirational life- stories highlighting the main teachings.
