CGC, Jhanjeri Organizes Industrial visit of B.Tech Civil Engineering students

Mohali 07th November:- To strengthen practical knowledge of  B. Tech Civil Engineering students,Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri  organized an industrial visit  at Ambuja Knowledge Centre, Panchkula. The students were informed that SCC is a solution to overcome deficiency of skilled manpower and it results in more durable concrete structures. SCC was first used in Japan & now is used in USA, Canada, France, U.K., Germany, Sweden, Netherland, Taiwan, Thailand and many other developing countries. The relative advantages and disadvantages of SCC as compared with Normal Concrete & High Performance Concrete were explained. Naveen Tomar , Manish Bhatia (Manager) & Ms. Richa (Civil Engineer & Laboratory Expert) addressed the students and explained various characteristics of Self Compacting Concrete .

Explaining the motive behind visit, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC said that technology is moving very fast nowadays. CGC aims at giving information to its students regarding latest techniques which are practiced  in engineering field. Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General CGC said that to implement the latest motto of Make In India of Prime Minister, the engineers of India should be capable of adopting the latest manufacturing techniques so that the goods prepared in India can compete with the best in the world. For this an active interaction between the industry & the technical institutes are always essential and worth.
