Mohali 06th August:--In view of the recent crime committed by "Kala Kachha Gangs" in the areas of tri-city, the SAS Nagar police has arrested 7 members of the gang. Police has also recovered lethal weapons/ammunition and vehicles from the gang, one country made .12 bore pistol alongwith two live cartridges, Two handles of hand pumps, Iron rods, Three Safaida logs & Three Motor cycles ( One Discover, one Pulsur and one Platina).
While giving this information to the press, the SSP Inder Mohan Singh Bhatti said that to nab these anti social elements and restore sense of security and confidence among the people, the police has intensified the night patrolling and night checking of suspected persons in a very professional and effective manner. During the intervening night of August 4 and 5, 2014, the SAS Nagar police achieved a major breakthrough during nakabandi in the area of police station Dera Bassi when the police received a secret information that a gang of 12 persons are planning in a meeting in an abandoned factory near village Sundran to commit a heinous crime. On the basis of this information, case FIR No. 209 dated 5-8-2014 u/s 399,402 IPC and 25 Arms Act PS Dera Bassi was registered. After registration of this case, the police put a cordon around the said abandoned factory, laid nakas and conducted raid. The police apprehended five members of the gang and arrested them in the aforementioned case. Two other accused persons of the same gang were also arrested by the police.
He further said that during the primarily interrogation of the accused persons arrested by the SAS Nagar police, they have confessed their involvement in the criminal cases like Looted cash and jewellery after injuring four persons in a mango garden near village Pakki Rurki, PS Sadar Kharar during the night between July 26 and 27, 2014, Looted cash and jewellery after injuring some persons from two farm houses in the area of village Seonk PS Mullanpur during the night between July 23 and 24, 2014, Looted cash and jewellery after injuring three persons from a farm of village Khuda Lahora, UT, Chandigarh during the night between July 23 and 24, 2014, Looted cash and jewellery after injuring three persons in a Garden and injuring two persons in Peer Baba Di Mazar in the area of village Sanoli PS Zirakpur during the night between July 26 and 27, 2014. Besides confessing involvement in the aforementioned incidents of looting, the members of this gang have also admitted the commission of many robberies and snatchings, in the Haryana state. The police also recovered some looted jewellery from their possession.
He Said that the further interrogation of the gang members is going on in order to arrest the remaining members of the gang who were reportedly part of this gang.
