Haryana CM Announce Policy For The Reimbursement Cost Of Artificial Limbs

Chandigarh 06th August:- Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced a policy for providing the reimbursement cost of artificial limbs to employees or pensioners of the State Government and their dependents. Under the policy, reimbursement cost ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs. four lakh for different type of artificial limbs would be allowed to them. A committee was constituted under the Chairmanship of Director General Health Services (DGHS) to frame a policy regarding fixing the rates of Artificial Limbs

 For Below Knee Amputation artificial limb, reimbursement of Rs. 10,000 would be made for Modular Prosthesis with sach foot, Rs. 45,000 for Modular Prosthesis with multi axial foot and Rs. 80,000 for Modular Prosthesis with Energy Storing foot. For Above Knee Amputation artificial limb, reimbursement of Rs 11,000 would be made for conventional above knee Prosthesis with sach foot, Rs. 55,000 for Modular Prosthesis with mechanical knee with sach foot and Rs 75,000 for Modular Prosthesis with mechanical knee with multi axial foot.  In case of Modular Prosthesis with pneumatic knee joint with multi axial foot, a reimbursement of Rs. 1.50 lakh would be made.  For Below Elbow Amputation artificial limb, reimbursement of Rs. 6000 would be made for B.E. Prosthesis with Indian Mechanical Hand and Rs 35,000 for B.E prosthesis with imparted mechanical hand with matching gloves. For myo-electric hand, reimbursement of Rs. 90,000 would be made in case of Chinese made and Rs. 3 lakh in case of USA made myo-electric hand. For Above elbow artificial limb, reimbursement of Rs. 10,000 would be made for Mechanical elbow + Mechanical hand (Indian) and Rs. 65,000 for Mechanical elbow + Mechanical hand (imported). For Mech elbow + myoelectric hand, reimbursement of Rs. 1.10 lakh would be made in case of made in China and Rs. 4 lakh in case of made in  USA.

The reimbursement will be allowed irrespective of the Change of the option of the claimant. The reimbursement would be allowed on getting prescription from the Orthopaedician of government hospitals and it would be allowed every five years.
