HALLMARK PUBLIC SCHOOL ORGANISED BLOOD DONATION CAMP

Chandigarh 28th July:- Hallmark Public School, Panchkula organised a 4th Blood Donation Camp at its premises. S S Phulia, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, inaugurated the camp. As a pre-curser to the camp, this year, Hallmark Public School had added "Importance of Blood Donation" in its curriculum. 196 people registered & 171 Units of Blood was collected. The donors were awarded with souvenirs and certificates to make the event memorable for them.  The blood camp was under the supervision of Dr. Manish Rai of Rotary Blood Bank Society, Sector 37, Chandigarh.

Jivtesh Garg, Director, Hallmark Public School, Panchkula said that the idea was to motivate students so as to raise their level of sensitivity towards important social causes. The educators explained to them their responsibilities towards society and the pivotal role of blood donation. The students were so enthused with the training that they made collages, art work etc related to blood donation, which was put up at the camp site.

Mrs. Kavita Wadhwa, Principal, said that Hallmark has institutionalized the blood donation camp and made it a yearly event. I feel with the major shortage of blood in our country; all schools and educational institutions should work in the direction of collecting this elixir of life, for use by medical fraternity to treat patients in dire need of blood.
