17th PGI-ICMR-WHO: National Training Course on Fungal Infections Concludes

Chandigarh 24^th May: -- The 17th PGI-ICMR-WHO National Training Course on fungal infections was concluded today with a valedictory function at Department of Medical Microbiology, PGI, Chandigarh. Prof. Arunaloke Chakrabarti, Head, Department of Medical Microbiology presided over the function and distributed the certificates to the participants. In today's morning sessions Prof. Ashim Das of Pathology Department discussed the tissue reactions in fungal infections. Dr. M R Shivaprakash discussed the method of identification of medically important fungi. He discussed the techniques in an interactive session. In an interactive session on issues and program implementation, all participants discussed the present scenario of different mycology laboratories of this country.
