Chandigarh 04th April:-- Indo Global collages organized 10th Blood Donation Camp,477 Units of blood was collected during the Camp. The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by Neelam Singla, Chairperson of Indo Global Colleges in association with Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER.. Chairperson Neelam Singla was the first person to donate blood. A team of Doctors headed by Dr. Usha Rao from PGI, Chandigarh collected blood from the volunteers after due screening and medical checkup.
On this occasion Neelam Singla, Chairperson said that the aim of camp is to spread awareness amongst the students and people at large on the importance of Blood Donation and how each drop of blood donated can be instrumental in saving precious life, considering how many people succumb to death due to lack of blood during surgery.Director General R. Panikar advised to all staff and students, insisting that blessed are the young who can donate blood. Advocating the thought of Donate blood - Gift life, the camp was an enormous success.
To promote the activity, Slogan and Poster Competition was held with enthusiastic participation by the students and faculty. The award winning Slogans and Posters were displayed on the numerous notice boards and Cash prizes were awarded to the winners. Also a Quiz Competition on Blood diseases & remedies, Drugs, Herbs, prevention of accidents was conducted. The pre-donation and post-donation care was done under the expert supervision of the team of doctors. Blood donors were served snacks before and after the blood donation by the Institution.
