Single Window System Establish for Permission of Rallies & Election Meetings for Lok Sabha Elections: Sidhu

Mohali 22nd March:-- Any Political Party and their candidates now, need not to bother for permissions of rallies, election meetings, loudspeakers, vehicle & other necessary approvals , as for all these, a single window system has been established at offices of  AROs. At here, the service will be provided on first come first serve basis. This was stated by District Electoral officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu while he was conducting a meeting regarding election expenses at district administrative complex, with representatives of various political parties & officials of Police department, Department of excise & taxation & nodal officers.

 District Electoral officer appealed the various political parties for submitting request for prior approval well before the event so that timely approvals could be provided. He directed the AROs to take the approvals on their top priority. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu said that fair & transparent elections will be conducted. He also appealed the political parties to ensure the compliance of modal code of conduct & adherence of election commission’s directions. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu said that in Dera Bassi constituency approximate 6 lacs, 7 thousand 799voters will cast their votes. He said that in view of elections on 30 April, requisite security arrangements have been made for all the 685 polling booths in the district & voters will be able to cast their votes easily & timely. He also appealed the voters to cast their votes without any fear & greed. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu said that to facilitate the eletio procedure 17 nodal officers have been deputed for various teams. He added that any complaint regarding elections could be made at toll free number 1800-180-2099 which is 24 hrs available. He directed the surveillance team to keep a watch on any suspect. He also said that if any person travelling with money greater than Rs. 50000 & up to 10 lacs without having any proof or documents that strict action should be taken.

During this Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Puneet Goel said that every candidate has to submit his details for election expenses & a candidate is allowed to spent Rs. 70 lacs for elections. He directed the nodal officers to keep an eye on election expenditure being done y the parties candidates. He also directed the Nodal officers to sent timely report of rallies, meetings on daily basis. He also directed to all executive officers to remove all the banners & posters which have been displayed at unauthorized places in the city.
