Chandigarh 26th March:-- The NACO is organizing a Full Site Sensitization Program on HIV/AIDS on 27th March 2014. The Program is mainly targeting the Support Staff in Health Care Setting which includes Laboratory Attendants, OT Attendants, Autopsy room Attendants and Safai Karamcharies working in the Institute to discuss some of the latest issues related to HIV/AIDS.
PGI to update and sensitize the health care workers regarding latest information and guidelines as released by Department of AIDS Control. The program to be coordinated by Prof Sunil K Arora, In charge of this center will include general information about virus and disease, modes of transmission, handling of HIV patient samples & biomedical waste and post-exposure prophylaxis. More than 100 members of staff from these categories working in various departments of PGI have been nominated to attend this workshop. The resource persons include experts from State AIDS Control Society and PGI itself. It will provide an ample opportunity to the participants to clarify the doubts related to HIV/AIDS from the officials from State AIDS Control Society (NACO) and the Faculty involved with patient management and testing.Various Important issues related to patient care and management will be discussed in this Program.
