Chandigarh 24th February:-- Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) defeated INSCOL Hospital comprehensively by 5 wickets in a rather one sided match of the ongoing CII – ATS Corporate Sports League 2014, being organised jointly by CII Yi Solan Chapter and ATS Infra Ltd. The match was played at DAV Sr Sec School, Sector 8, here today. Team INSCOL won the toss and elected to bat first. INSCOL was bundled out for a paltry score of scored 69 runs in 16.5 overs. Rajesh top scored with 15(11) with 2 fours and Raj Kumar scored 12(15) with 2 fours. From CII, Surinder Pal Singh bowled superbly and grabbed three wickets, yielding 16 runs in his 4 overs while Vinod Kapur and Ashish scalped 2 wickets each. In reply, CII easily chased the target in 14 overs with 5 wickets in hand. Saransh Sharma played a captain’s knock of 27(27) studded with 5 fours. Pawan supported with 13 (25) with 2 fours.From INSCOL, Amit took 1 wicket.
In an exciting match, HDFC Ltd defeated ATS in a nail biting finish. Electing to bat first, ATS scored 109/8 in its allotted 20 overs, courtesy fierce bowling attack of HDFC Ltd. Sachin top scored with27(25) with 5 fours and Ankur supported with 17(17) with 2 fours. From HDFC Ltd, Gaurav took a 5 wicket haul, yielding 18 runs in his 4 overs. In reply, HDFC Ltd scored 110 /7 in 19 overs. The match swung in favour of both teams on various occasions but finally HDFC Ltd kept the temperament and won. Pankaj who came in to bat at No 9 scored a cameo knock of 20(14) n.o hitting 2 fours and a crucial six. Vikas chipped in with 25(32) n.o hitting 2 fours. From ATS, Vikas and Sandeep scalped 3 & 2 wickets respectively.
In another match, Fiat Metro Motors defeated IMTECH. Put in to bat first, IMTECH scored 117 All out backed by Amir’s knock of 22(30) with a four and Parveen Kumar’s 14(18) with 2 fours. From Fiat Metro, Himanshu and Lalit Bindra took 3 and 2 wickets respectively in their 4 overs. In reply, Fiat Metro chased the target of 118/4 in 16.1 overs backed by a superb knock by Lalit bndra hitting 34(32) with 4 fours and Karan’s 21(20) with 2 fours. From IMTECH, Pankaj and Parveen Kumar took 1 wicket each.
In the last match of the day, Punjab Secretariat thrashed Competent Synergies by 6 wickets. Electing to bat first, Competent Synergies were all out for merely 99 in 19 overs. Rajiv Gangar top scored with 20(23) with a four and Bhushan scored 15(12) with 2 fours. From Pb Sectt, Virender and Amandeep Singh took 4 & 3 wickets respectively. In reply, Pb Sectt chased it and scored 101 / 4 in just 15.1 overs. Harminder Singh top scored with 24(28) with 3 fours and Varinder chipped in with 23(14) studded with 4 boundaries. From Competent, Rajinder took 2 wickets yielding 26 runs in his 4 overs.
