UNDERPRIVILEGED LEARN IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION AT HALLMARK PUBLIC SCHOOL

By 121 News Reporter

Chandigarh 24th January:-- Hallmark Public School, Panchkula, organised a Republic Day celebration with a difference. Keeping in mind the need for making learning and education in society an 'inclusive' process, students of the school undertook activities with underprivileged children, who do not have access to creative endeavours and to gaining formal knowledge, due to meager financial resources and other reasons.

Kavita Wadhwa, Principal, Hallmark Public School said that Republic Day is celebrated as the Constitution came into force in Independent India in 1950. Under the constitution education is one aspect which is the right of all Indians irrespective of their social & financial status. We at Hallmark therefore organised a meaningful Republic Day celebration by holding an awareness program which was coordinated by our students, with children coming from the underprivileged segment of society.

Hallmark School's mentor Ms. Nalini held a workshop for as many as 100 students from the underprivileged segments, which are being taken care of by an NGO -- Jeewan Mukt Nishulak Vidyalaya. The workshop was themed on Building Creative Capacities for the 21st century. Ms Nalini told the students why it was necessary for them to make the right choices in life and develop confidence.  The session saw Hallmark students sharing their learning experiences with their new friends. Hallmarkites explained to their guests why it was important to be educated. Ideas were shared to motivate them to take up education and increase their quest for creativity.
