Chandigarh Police Conduct Workshop For Protection of Children From Sexual Offences

Chandigarh 10^th December:--- A workshop for creating awareness and ensuring effective implementation of various provisions of the Act and Roles made under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 was conducted by Chandigarh Police at Institute of Correctional Administration, here today. This was initiative of R.S. Ghumman, SSP (Operations), Chandigarh.

In this Workshop, 40 police officers from Chandigarh Police Department participated in the Workshop. Dr. Upneet Lalli, Deputy Director, ICA, Chandigarh gave an overview on the Rights of Children and Child Abuse.  Dr. K.P. Singh, IPS, Addl. Director General of Prisons, Haryana delivered lectures on the law of protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and Juvenile Justice Act (Children in Need of Care and Protection) Act, 2000. R.S. Ghumman, IPS, SSP (Ops), Chandigarh, delivered the valedictory address and distributed the certificates to the participants.
