BRITISH SCHOOL, CHANDIGARH HOLD ITS 5TH ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

Chandigarh 25th November:--- The British School, Chandigarh organised Annual Sports Day today at the lush green field of the school's Sec 44 campus. Kamlesh Kumar, DPI (Schools), Chandigarh was the Chief Guest. As many as 550 students of the school took part in it.

The Annual sports day saw some very colorful drills & dances presented by the young students. Prominent among these were: Aerobics Drill, Ribbon Dance, Umbrella Drill and a Dumb bell exercise. Young athletes took part in track & field events which included sprints and hurdle races. For the tiny tots fun events like sack races etc. were organized. Toddlers from Tinkerbells(pre Kindergarten), Foundationb Years (Kindergarten) and Key Stage(primary to senior classes -- Ist to Xth) were part of the energetic sporting activity today. A scintillating Pyramid formation provided the icing on the cake as the event was wrapped up by singing of the school anthem.  Aqib Lateef Wani, was adjudged school all-rounder and the Best athlete award went to Kuldeep Singh who is also the school sports captain.

According to Ms.Mona Sethi, Principal, that the idea of our school is to develop students' a spirit of participation and more importantly sportsmanship. Though the environment was charged up with competition as 40 medals that were up for grabs, the idea was to make students adopt exercise and sports as part of their daily regimen and help them simply have a good sporty day out.
